Due to a variety of factors surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, Burning Man Project has made the decision not to move forward with the 2020 Global Art Grants cycle.
As our committee reviewed the proposals, it became increasingly clear that most of the proposals were for projects that couldn’t happen in the way they were originally envisioned, given the policies, like social distancing, implemented around the world in 2020 to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19.
While the Global Art Grants program did not award any grants this cycle, our committee was inspired by all the wonderful creativity our applicants proposed to encourage interactivity and engagement in their communities.
Artists will need significant support in the months to come, so we’re collecting links to resources in the hopes they are useful. If you learn of any additional resources we should add to our list, please email globalartgrants@burningman.org to let us know.
