Burning Man Presents: The Artists’ Network Symposium and Desert Arts Preview

Burning Man is pleased to invite our community’s artists to our second all-day Artists’ Network Symposium. In the spirit of community engagement, we’ve created this fun and informative event where artists and other experts in their fields will come together to share knowledge and connect around mutual goals and needs. The veteran artists and experts of our community hold a wealth of knowledge and experience: possibly the most valuable resource of all to other artists.

During the day, we will host a series of panel discussions, moderated talks, and presentations along with an open session for networking and connecting with people passionate about creating impactful work in the world. These sessions, along with your feedback, will help us to create additional “deeper dive” sessions that will expand on topics relevant to you. These sessions will be held later on in the year and will also be recorded and made available through the Burning Man website as an ongoing goal of helping artists learn, connect, and discover resources. After the symposium, we’ll open the doors to the public for the much-loved and greatly anticipated annual artists’ lecture, the Desert Arts Preview.

At the symposium, you’ll have the chance to:

  • Meet and network with other artists; learn best practices.
  • Meet 2016 Black Rock City Honoraria and Burning Man Global Art Grantees, as well as other artists in the SF Bay Area.
  • Connect with community leaders and Burning Man staff who focus on art and civic engagement.

At the Desert Arts Preview, you will:

  • See presentations of works in progress for Burning Man 2016 to the general public, potential volunteers and supporters.

The $20 ticket cost registers you for the full day event, including the Desert Arts Preview.
