JRS VOLUME #7; ISSUE #16
JRS/7.16/02.18.03 TICKET EDITION
Unsubscribe with the info at the bottom…
This one’s just a quickie TICKETS announcement, followed by a full JRS later this week.
But first, a note about the most recent JRS – or lack thereof! Volume7, Issue #15, sent last Thursday, somehow got fuxored on the way through the server, and so some of you were left scratching your heads all weekend. First, the initial JRS that I sent took several hours to moderate (it usually takes less than 15 minutes.) Thinking not too much of it, I just re-copied the text from my text editor, it and started over again. It finally went out, but when it did, many subscribers were greeted with a completely BLANK JRS’S, and those who *did* receive the text saw the mysterious subject line of “B”, or a completely screwy subject line with spaces or characters in between every letter of every word.
We at the JRS apologize for the weird email – the whole thing looked completely normal when it left our outbox. For those who didn’t receive the text, you can find Issue 15 and all the other old JRS’s at: JRS. (If it’s not there yet, check back in 24 hours – the section manager for that section was working on pushing that URL for us just this afternoon.) Our geekiest geeks are looking at the problem right now, so we hope this one is coming through loud and clear.
And now, here’s the very important word about TICKETS!!
“There is one thing that Burning Man can say about its participants, we are one PREPARED group of people! We love to plan our camps, our costumes, our art and our contributions and oh yeah, we get our tickets well in advance too. We are so prepared, in fact, that as of this edition of the JRS, the following tickets levels are SOLD OUT EVERYWHERE:
$145, $165, $175, and $185?!
The going rate for tickets is now $200. These tickets are available for ONLINE sales ONLY. They are going fast, so hop to it and get yours today! tickets.burningman.com
Mail order and outlet sales now start at $225.
Please do not panic if you just dropped your order in the mail. We will contact you if there is a problem or a question with your order. The official postmark date for the lower level tickets is 2/18/03. All mail-in ticket orders postmarked after 2/18/03 will be at least $225.
Over the course of the year, we monitor the flow of ticket sales to gauge our estimated population and to plan for the size and layout of our fine city. Even if you missed the lower ticket levels, please do consider buying your ticket once your plans to attend Burning Man are made. Buying your ticket in advance will help us to plan a better event to accommodate all of the fabulous participants out there.
To order tickets by mail: send a money order or cashier’s check (made out to Burning Man) to this address:
Burning Man
PO Box 884688
San Francisco, CA 94188-4688
Be sure to include a CLEARLY printed note with your full name, mailing address, phone number and the number of tickets you would like to order. If you would like to have your tickets sent via secure delivery, please include an additional $10 with your order.
The Ticket Team is working as fast as our little hands let us sort through the thousands of mail order requests we have received. We understand you are excited and anxious to get your tickets, but please try to be patient as we tackle this mountain. Generally, no news is good news. If there is a problem or a question about your order, someone from the Ticket Team will contact you.

Humbly yours,
The Ticket Minions”
