A Shack of Sit, where sit happens! For the last 20 years, A Shack of Sit has provided a respite from the harsh elements by creating a shady, cool space and serving ice cold water for wayward Burners adventuring out on the playa, along with many fun activities, classes, and interactive gizmos. Art Model Camp
Come do figure drawing in a shade structure in the AEZ village (likely on the “F” side) from noon to 3, with male and female models (2-20 minute poses). Anyone can draw or pose, sign up on the whiteboard to pose in a 30-minute session if you’re curious, no experience necessary, and clothing level is your choice. Some drawing supplies, paper, pencils and pens, will be available.

Welcome to our incredible Burning Man village! Our village provides camping for three amazing theme camps: Tautology, Raver Trash and Moonrock. Our frontage is adorned with spectacular art projects like the Infinity Mirror Dome, Sound Stage for DJ’s, a 10’x20′ Kandi making station, the Web of Dreams (an interactive climbable art piece hand woven out of ropes) and the secret bike shop SHHH & bar. A Village of Theme Camps, Art Cars, and Artist with an immersive experience where participants can discover the story of an old, dusty stretch of desert highway that mysteriously disappeared in 1959. This Lost Highway, full of roadside attractions of the era, finally reappeared complete with paranormal, trippy, vintage, and sun baked sights. It’s a time capsule from a bygone era, but then the more you look, the more things seem to be a little different.
BRC will also experience the Jungle in our Jaguar Occult Lounge equipped with the Cosmic Grove Art Car while parked.
Come by and get a Happy Cone throughout the event and play on the giant playground equipped with a slide, monkey bars, swing, Teather ball and a teeter totter.

BULGARIAN KUKER Mutant Vehicle is based on a millenia old tradtion from the Balkan Peninsula in Europe, the Kukeri Ritual Dancers – people dressing up with hideous animalistic masks and elaborate self-made fur costumes every year at the beginning of Spring season to scare away evil spirits and bring joy, happiness and prosperity for the whole village throughout the year.
In addition to just having the festive and carnival-like appearance, we have infused our ancient MUTANT PET with a modern soul – mixing ancient bagpipe melodies and live drum beats with various electronic music styles.
Our main collaborators are the GroundSwell Foundation non-profit entity and Shady Lady camp of McMurdo’s Antarctica burners.
La Calaca Village
La Calaca Village is comprised of three sister theme camps: Camp Axolotl (founding camp), La Bruja (2013-present) and our newest addition ‘Friendly Society’ (2022). La Calaca Village offers theme camps, art car support and artist support on playa. We pride ourselves on being makers, teachers and healers . The Lamplighters began in 1993, with a small group of participants placing a dozen or so kerosene lanterns on the ground each evening, illuminating a pathway towards The Man. In the intervening years, Black Rock City has grown, and while many things have changed, the Lamplighters remain, though few at the time could have imagined how the Lamplighters would develop, and rise to the challenge of an expanding city.
To accomplish this considerable task, we ask for your help, and we invite you to be a part of this community, this event, and our tradition.
