Hey all,

It’s a cold Thursday night in San Francisco, and if someone hadn’t stolen my long, think, white, fuzzy coat at Burning Man this year I’d have had it the past few nights. I loaned said coat to a lovely shivering woman. She took it to her Black Rock City home, and while in her off-Esplanade theme camp the coat disappeared from the public area. I’m sure another cold shivering person needed it badly at that moment, however I’d be grateful to see that coat back again. It’s given me many lovely years at Burning Man, and I miss it greatly. My holiday wish is that it shows up magically here at the office. Please!

The first Thursdays of the month in San Francisco are gallery openings. I don’t typically hit them, but tonight it was WAY worth it to experience a sort-of alumnae of Burning Man/reunion opening at Varnish http://www.varnishfineart.com/ where Al Honig, http://www.varnishfineart.com/artist/index.php?a=alhonig Kal Spelletick http://images.burningman.com/index.cgi?image=2178> http://images.burningman.com/index.cgi?image=5420 and JennyBird http://images.burningman.com/index.cgi?image=14755 have their art included in a group show called Misfit Toys. It’s up until early January.

ROAD TRIP!

I’m about to head out for a road trip in a week with plans to drive to Houston to see my sister and her new third daughter. Next Saturday I’ll miss the annual opportunity to wear a Santa outfit (here in ’03 with Technopatra http://www.bohemianmasquerade.com/santacon/DSCN9905.htm) and traipse through San Francisco’s Union Square, expressing general merriment http://www.santarchy.org, and worse yet miss the Naughty Santa’s Black Market. http://www.naughtysantas.org/ on Sunday. The crafts and performance at this event are unique and amazing, and so are Bryn and Hernan. Why they took last year off I’ll never know. Raise your hand if Hernan had something to do with your involvement in Burning Man, yeah, thought so.

I just found out today that Larry Harvey, R.U. Sirius, Jello Biafra and Louis Rossetto (co-founder of Wired Mag) will together be on a panel at the Commonwealth Club’s “Inforum” series on Tuesday Dec. 14. It’s titled “Rebels and Visionaries”, duh. http://www.commonwealthclub.org/INFORUM/index.html I guess I’ll miss that one too. But, you shouldn’t. Not free, so check out the info before heading over.

Maybe I’ll find a Santa Rampage somewhere in my path http://santacon.tribe.net/, or I’ll make one happen all on my own. I plan to hit points in the south-west coming and going possibly including regional contacts in and points near Phoenix, http://www.arcosanti.org/, Tuscon, El Paso http://www.rocketbuster.com/, Marfa http://www.chinati.org/ (ever been there?), Austin, Houston, fly to Detroit then Buffalo the back to Houston, Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Las Vegas. Don’t know where I’ll be on NYE, but likely in Houston or Austin. I was hoping to be where the fantabulous Mutaytor was playing http:www.mutaytor.com, but alas I’ll not be in Los Angeles or San Francisco for the Anon Salon http://www.anonsalon.com dual-city (dueling cities? http://www.insmogandthunder.com/) extravaganza/s (MORE info below). Last year Mutaytor was in SF, this year it’s LA.

I won’t return to SF until after Burning Man 2005 TICKETS GO ON SALE, Wed. January 5th, 2005 http://tickets.burningman.com. Before I go, I’ve got stuff to pull out of my storage and put back into circulation this Saturday (noon – 6) 12.5.04 at the BMan HQ Basement Sale?see you on Saturday, or see you “on the road”. I’m open to a list of good road trip songs for a CD/tape.
