Fire In Balance

Fire In Balance is an LA based theme camp centered around enhancing the collective experience through the contribution of art and experience. Expanding on the success of Poetic Kinetics 2009 honorarium piece Holding Flame, this year’s Fire in Balance is an installation made up of an inverted fire boxes suspended within a pagoda-like steel structural frame surrounded by a series of fire dishes and fire towers.

Hooker Support Group is the headquarters for the art installation Suspension of Disbelief, a large-scale utopia of crocheted hammocks.

Stands Of Chime

The art installation will have the look of a pagoda. As you approach it you will see a simple 4 sided hut made of steel. It stands 10′ at the peak of its roof and is about 12′ wide. What you will notice first is that the walls are made of large suspended steel chimes. They will range in size from 6″ to 12″ in diameter an up to 4′ long. Field of Echoes, The

The Field of Echoes is an interactive sound installation that transforms a piece of the open playa into a reverberant space where sound echoes and decays slowly as it would in a large enclosed space such as a cathedral or cavern. This pocket of altered acoustics is produced by a number of small pillars that rise above the playa’s surface, scattered across an area approximately 80 feet in diameter.

Art Car Camp

2014 is Art Car Camp’s 20th year and we’ll be celebrating this milestone with a funky used car lot display. We’ll be exhibiting both daily drivers (permanently altered, street legal vehicles) and mutants. Art Car Camp is where “Daily Driver” licensed and insured full time art cars are displayed. These are vehicles that work their magic back in the communities from where they hail from all year round. Come see the collection and meet the artists! Also showing films.

Charlie The Unicorn Art Car is an homage to the most infamous unicorn in the history of popular culture.
Inspired by great balls of fire, candy cane stripper poles and rainbow glitter, this one of a kind land-yacht is as unique as the phenomenon that inspired it.

Chakralicious Camp

Chakralicious Camp is a camp dedicated to all levels of colorful diversity, with yoga, workshops, music, art, performances, spirituality, community, and more. This will be a 24 hour interactive camp with beautiful altars, chill spaces, visionary art, and colorful decor representing the rainbow colors of the chakras. Come take a class in Kundalini Yoga, Tantra, Thai Massage, or Non-Violent Communication, and at night, dance at our chakra themed parties with djs, live music, and fun interactive ceremonies.

Camp Conception is the womb of small ideas and experiments that grow bigger than expected. The Dusty Rhino Camp aspires to bring people together through art, fire and electronic music, and to be the best Black Rock public transportation possible!! While people take an “art safari” they listen to great DJ’s and enjoy a 29’ Rhino that shoots fire from its horn.

Heart Phoenix Color Caravan

In 2013 Heart Phoenix brought a one-of-a-kind experience to the playa bringing together music, art, mobility, and community. This year the Heart Phoenix crew has even more incredible music and art planned, and lots of fun in store for our playa family.

Mobility Camp/BRCDoA

Our focus is making Burning Man accessible and possible for All. We offer wheelchair accessible Art Tours 4 times Daily to the Deep Playa Art and to the major burns as well as some Limited shuttle service and we also provide education and information on how to prepare and survive the Playa environment and support for those with mobility equipment charging needs.

Nothing Butt Art

OMitting Station

OMitting Station is a camp to a participatory art project, which is to record burners uttering the sanskrit syllable “Om” and then layer them all together to create one unified Om. We will then have it played from a large sound art car Sunday morning at the ashes of the man.

Thunder Gumbo

Thunder Gumbo is a Brooklyn based art collective and underground event production crew founded in 2009 to combine elements from as many musical and cultural scenes across Brooklyn as possible. Our central project involves taking a decommissioned US army truck and building a multi-platform abstract art piece that evokes a dialog about the relationship between the evolution of civilization and the passage of time.

Divine Masculine, The

The Divine Masculine in a large sculpture of a Penis. It is 22 feet high. It is covered in a sparkling purple and psychedelic fabric. Camp Soft Landing

Camp Soft Landing offers a comfortable space to drink tea, tell stories and participate in workshops. Soft Landing presents the Palenque Norte speaker series featuring 40 visionary talks and stories in diverse concepts such as technology, medicine, art, science, design and entheobotany. Open 24 hours, the Tea House hosts acoustic and spoken word poetry performances. Servers provide tea and empathy and comfortable spaces for rest, rehydration and quiet conversation.

Kindergarten Kamp

Kindergarten Kamp is bringing it’s playground out for your enjoyment – kids of all ages are welcome to enjoy our swings, trampoline, and teeter-totter – and don’t forget to check out the art on the playground. You will also be able to relax in our Moroccan styled MonkeyHut, where you can smoke some hookah and play swag poker.

La Calaca

La Calaca is a shamanic bedouin camp. A strange, mystical experience that welcomes all brands of travelers. We’ve got a lot of things brewing in our cauldron for this year. Specifically:

We classify Music Savages as a Lounge Camp. This is a hybrid between your traditional Sound Camp and Relaxation Area. By blending hand selected music provided by international talent with art, comedy, comfort, and an intense lack of drama, we create a unique oasis off the beaten path. We prefer to stay out of the limelight – making it a pleasant surprise to stubble upon if you’re exploring without a set destination.

N-Toxicade

N-Toxicade is about twisting your perception of video games as an art form and how they should be played. Giving the gift of nostalgia and distorting your favorites one game at a time. “I haven’t played this game in forever… wait, what’s happening?”

Pretentious Fox

A very international and inter-state gathering of pretentious foxes and other eclectic and venerable animals! We provide an essential neighborhood BAR with good MUSIC, visitor bar-top ART, a STAGE with instruments for OPEN-MICS, and several EVENTS including RUSSIAN kitsch night with pel’meni!

Que Viva! Camp

Migration is Beautiful! A mix of Carnaval and Mardi Gras, Que Viva! (Celebrate Life!) camp will roll with Latino and Cajun music, migration stories, and butterflies, symbols of metamorphosis. Come paint your wings to wear around the playa! Tell your migration story in our video photo booth! If you do, you’ll get your BRC “permanant residency” green card. Check What, Where, When for wing-making times. No art experience necessary.

Radio Electra

Radio Electra 89.9 FM. We put the ROCK in Black Rock City! Offering an eclectic array of music, mayhem commentary and art. Camps, villages, and artists wishing to make radio announcements about events stop in or contact us by email prior to the event. Please feel free to email us or drop off any prerecorded announcements you may have. You can even come in for an interview. We want to hear from you about what you do at Burning Man.

Raised by Wolves

Raised By Wolves is a transcontinental pack of artists, healers, performers, and builders who are inspired and impassioned by the classic story of feral children and their wolf pack families. Each year we bring our untamed energy to the Black Rock desert through play, performance and art. Our gifts this year include BARmag Cafe, where you can get hot coffee every morning, and Ziza the Roving Tea Truck. We’ll also host a yoga class every morning in our Wolf Den.

Red Bar, an oasis popping out of the desert, red and glowing at night, invites weary travelers to float through our halls to find the inner sanctum of libations and live music at the piano. Sit down and play, or listen and sing. Bring your instruments and see what develops. We are always open and will have daily drink specials, games and entertainment. Nooks to create art, walls to hang it on.

ROASTED

Come join us as we play host to evening socials featuring drip coffee and chai tea – ensuring that participants are properly caffeinated before their night-time activities. Our homegrown nonsensical storytelling will surely entertain as we share our unique blend of art with you.

Sacred Cow

Desert wanderer! Join the mystical culinary odyssey of the Sacred Cow as we romp through BRC on the Sacred Cow Hajj rooftop restaurant- lounge-mutant vehicle! Catch the Hajj spouting delectable smells down your neighborhood street, or toss fantastically fabricated food stuffs to the land locked participants below: such technological wonders of flavor they have never experienced. Sunset dinner cruise art tours. Late night playa picnics. Moonlit Temple Feasts. We always need kitchen help!
