2024 Theme Camps

KAHVE

KAHVE (meaning café in Turkish) is an Anatolian-inspired camp serving coffee and offering coffee-ground readings daily from 10am-2pm. We are a stylistic sanctuary for wary travelers on their journey throughout the desert. Find shade among plush pillows, pithy lounges and Turkish lanterns. Enjoy the atmosphere and ambient music while admiring the intricate art pieces. Find a safe haven in one of our Bedouin-styled cabanas to relax and enjoy your beverage.

KAHVE is a sanctuary to provide relief from the hustle and bustle of the stimulating playa. Come by anytime you need a place to chill, relax, take a nap.. or briefly lose yourself in an Anatolian dream.

KAIF

Step into the cool ambiance of our air-conditioned, LED-illuminated cozy KAIF lounge, a haven where you can unwind with a refreshing slushy (virgin, or not?) in a crisp waffle cone, complemented by healthy snacks. Join us for a delightful escape designed for your relaxation and pleasure.

We welcome you in our A/C LED-lit lounge where you can enjoy slushy drinks (virgin, or not?) served in waffle cones and healthy snack while relaxing in comfy ambiance.

Kaleidoscope

We serve individually brewed cups of exceptional, single-origin coffee prepared by our baristas. Our relaxing lounge area, adorned with low tables, cushions, and ambient music, encourages you to engage in meaningful conversations with fellow Burners.

Finally, don’t miss the opportunity to climb our iconic 26 ft crow’s nest lookout tower. This unique structure offers a high vantage point to take in the sights and sounds of Black Rock City.

Karmastan Airship

Karmastan Airship is a steampunk inspired bar camp that’s new to the Playa this year. Our little crew of miscreants, scoundrels, and artists want to gift some fun and frivolity to the Playa in the form of themed bar night and a lounge for relaxing!

KashyyyK

Your favorite wookiees are back! Stop by our legendary Wookiee Bodega, open daily from 12-5PM. Modeled after a beloved NYC community bodega, it is a little convenience “store” for trinkets ranging from playa-essential (sunscreen, tampons, reusable water bottles) to ostentatious indulgences (bedazzled jewelry, candy bars, decorative knick-knacks).

Kazbah

Kazbah is the tower that protects the kingdom. Its where the local leader resides, in our case the DJ, playing house music and good vibes from midnight to noonish on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday mornings.

Kegel Kommandos

A warm Playa welcome awaits at Kegel Kommandos (“We’re doing it now!”).
Can’t-miss Thursday’s Annual Grilled Cheese and Baconstravaganza for those seeking gluten, lactose and fresh mimosas.

Kentucky Fried Camp

Kentucky Fried Campers only need one spice, and that’s the spice of life. And if you want some, join us any time of day or night. We begin each morning with the best hot breakfast in Black Rock City; a shot of good Kentucky bourbon served with a fried baloney sandwich. Afternoons you’ll find us relaxing in our Olde Kentucky Dome, crafting, napping, music making, perhaps a bit of gossiping, and lots of just watching the Black Rock City whirled go by. Evenings are for dancing and more music making. Look for the KFC high in the sky and then spot our gingham-wrapped dome. Kentucky Fried Campers have been waiting for y’all!

Khan You Not Conform

Have you ever seen someone on playa who looked like they were the most likely to get caught in a dust storm, or the biggest flirt, or simply the most captivating and inviting individual and wanted to recognize that individual? Well now you can! Introducing playa’s first absurd awards camp. Come by and make a custom award for that special someone, vote for award nominees, or just relax and listen to some not shitty music. We are kid friendly too!

Kostume Kult is a costume art, theme event and street-theater club that has HUGE fun! Based in New York City with members internationally, our “kult” is an open one inviting all to pursue costumed creativity year-around and on playa.

Kuker Camp

BULGARIAN KUKER Mutant Vehicle is based on the Kukeri Ritual Dancers – a millenia old tradition from Bulgaria, Eastern Europe. Kukeri are people wearing elaborate self-made fur costumes and hideous animalistic masks. Every year at the beginning of spring Kukeri dance to scare away evil spirits and bring joy, happiness and prosperity for the whole village throughout the year.
In addition to just having the festive and carnival-like appearance, we have infused our ancient MUTANT PET with a modern soul – mixing ancient bagpipe melodies and live drum beats with various electronic music styles.

Kumaya

Come cozy up in our 24/7 Library Lounge, filled with pillows, blankets, books and art. Write in, doodle on, or read any number of the journals we put up dangling from the sky, filled with the stories, art and reflections from this year’s and previous burns. Sip tea with us at the sunrise in Deep Playa, lounge with us and fellow travelers and take part in our sound bath ceremony. We hope to get the chance to share the special gift and experience of Burning Man soon < 3
