Art • Music • Performance • Theme Camps • Robot Thoughts • You!
Burning Man is excited to put out the call to YOU to participate in creating the SF Burnal Equinox 2018 Art Salon & Mixer to encourage arts collaboration in the Bay Area and celebrate the midpoint in our Burning Year!
We invite you to: ROBOTA OBLONGATA! …a pathway into the head and mind of the robotic realm. Join us in a place at the intersection between the quantitative and emergent; the simulated and creative; the possible and palpable. A living database between human consciousness and abstract calculation, where the world of being and material thought overlap, divide, and eerily evolve.
Calling artists and robotic explorers of every conceivable kind, whether artistic, theme camp based, musical, workshop, or mash-up thereof–especially AI, VR, AR, and the kinds of things you would find in the mind of robots, cyborgs, replicants and alternabots! Help create the innards and experiential neural networks within the robot mind. There will, of course, also be all the things you normally love about Burnal Equinox, including a full range of human expression, art, socializing and dancing.
Come right at 6pm for a special early evening component of the night you will not want to miss: including a showcase of robotic friends and a mixed up world of 3D rendered artificial intelligence masquerading as real-time information experiences. If you do creative work in the robotic realm, we would especially love to hear from you!
…And it all goes until 4am, when androids dream of electric sleep! baaaaah….

Performers, DJs, and Robots, should complete this Performer form to be considered. No fire at this venue, but all else welcome for consideration!
HOMELESS CARE PACK INFO:
Make your participation extra meaningful!
One of the principles of Burning Man is: Gifting. Please consider helping those less fortunate by contributing several items from the list below. The best result will be achieved if people bring at least one item from Group A, or a bag of items from Group B. Backpacks and other supplies will be provided by Burning Man and distributed to the homeless with love and care by members of our volunteer Community Events Team.
There is no special discount for participating in the backpack program for the homeless. However, if you’d like a discounted entry price you can purchase your tickets early or arrive between 6:00pm – 7:00pm for the special early program—which you really don’t want to miss, anyway! : )
THANK YOU SO MUCH for being part of the success of this effort to help the homeless. Our team will personally deliver the supplies in a manner that is thoughtful and ensures people can use the supplies.
