This page documents blocks, components and styles used on www.burningman.org. This is intended to help authors understand how certain components might look on their page, and how to apply the online styles for the website. It displays how blocks can be styled to achieve different effects.
Expand each section below to see examples of the named components. These expanding areas are made with the “Details” block that contains “Group” blocks.
Typography
I am a Heading 2 (H2). I introduce every important section.
I am a paragraph set to XX-Large. I’m about the same size as H2. I should be used when you want big letters, but it’s not a new section.
I am a Paragraph at Default size. Each of my lines should have fewer than 80 characters. There are limits built into pages that keep paragraphs below 890 pixels to keep paragraphs easy to read. I am a link and I am automatically styled.
I am a Paragraph with Typography Font Size set to Body Large. I am about the same size as an H5.
I am an H3. Use me to call attention to subsections under an H2.
I am a Paragraph set to X-Large. I should be used for banners and to call attention to important information.
I am an H4 and I can only follow H3’s.
I am a Paragraph set to Large. I am similar in size to the H4. I can be used to call attention to text that is not a separate section in the content hierarchy
I am an H5. Only use me if there is an H4 above me in the hierarchy.
I am a Paragraph set to Body Large.
I am an H6 and you probably won’t need to use me, but I’m nice to have around.
I am a Paragraph with Default size. I am about the same size as an H6.

I am an unordered list, font size default:

Quotes/Pullquotes

I am a pullquote with default styling. The Pullquote block is used to emphasize a phrase already mentioned within your own content, often styled with a larger font, background color, or centered placement to grab attention.
I am a citation for the pullquote

I am a quote with optional citation between two paragraphs:

Quote block is used to display text from an external source (a quote), typically styled with indentation or a vertical line.

We use a custom styled table from TablePress Pro, a WordPress plugin. If you need a table, talk to your TPM about using TablePress Pro and table accessibility or engage with the Comms team to plan, design and schedule the creation of your table.

Forms
Form styles are being standardized, but depending on the type of form, additional work may be needed. Talk to Comms about the type of form you need, and Engineering will be engaged if needed.
