Preparing for Burning Man is half the fun. Contributing to a theme camp, or creating your own, and getting all your gear together is a blast. The logistical side of preparing for the event can be just as creative.
The Survival Guide is essential reading for anyone going to Black Rock City. Learn about what to pack, how to stay healthy and safe, and get tips for being a good citizen. The desert can be unforgiving to the poorly prepared.

Important Form and Application Deadlines
Participation forms are available through your Burner Profile. Each form has a different deadline, so review each type of application you may need to complete.
Placed Camp Questionnaire
Opened: February 18, 2026 at 12pm (noon) PST
Closed:
- March 26, 2026: theme camps requesting placement on Esplanade, Avenues, Portals, or Plazas and all camps in HUBS
- April 2, 2026: theme camps requesting placement in Streets and not in HUBS
- April 16 at 12pm (noon) PST: for standalone support camps (art / mutant vehicle / civic / work)
Any camp who missed these deadlines can email placement@burningman.org to request a late submission. We will accommodate and map in camps through mid-June, but can’t guarantee location preference for late submissions. We’ll do our best to find the best spot possible.

This application is for Art Projects, Mutant Vehicles, Accessibility Vehicles, Theme Camps, and OSS Vendors. This fuel safety program allows these groups the ability to store as little fuel in their camps as possible.
Burning Man is an exercise in Radical Self-reliance.
