The Documentation Team is responsible for photographing, videotaping and webcasting Burning Man events throughout the year. We’re an international team of award-winning photojournalists, filmmakers and artists, some of whom have been shooting for “The Man” since 1990.
The “Doc Team” is on hand during meetings at Headquarters, Regionals worldwide, and events such as the Desert Arts Preview, Theme Camp Symposium and Decompression. We cover Black Rock City extensively, from the City Survey through the end of Restoration.
Our work is used whenever the Burning Man Organization needs imagery, be it on Journal posts, the Annual Report, social media, or for Press requests. Over 80,000 photos, from the first Burn in 1986 to the present, are stored on a searchable site: gallery.burningman.org. Hundreds of videos are on our YouTube channel.
The Doc Team is always on the lookout for fresh talent. We’re interested in meeting new folks with experience in photography, videography and film. Share your portfolio with us. You’re not an expert? No problem! We can also use your two hands if you’d just like to help support people who are.
