The Michigan Burners community is designed to welcome interested burners to our growing community, build connections, foster unique and unusual gatherings, and grow artistic and community participation. We welcome you to our burner world!

A place to connect Detroit, Ann Arbor and other Michigan area Burners! We do a variety of get together’s and will post them on the various Michigan Burning Facebook Groups listed below.

We also do Meet & Greets, Newbie Orientations, and a smattering of community events and parties like Santarchy, sometimes Urban Golf and Bunarchy.

We have a BWB chapter who does The Homeless Backpacking Prroject in winter and Free Store in the summer. BWB Detroit hosts a yearly backpacking project and community dinner around Thanksgiving.

If you don’t know we hold a Regional Burn called Lakes Of Fire. It is often around the third weekend of June and a great way to meet people, we also host a Decompression after the big burn. We also have a facebook page for that.

We believe if you get involved with a local project or volunteer at an event those are two of the best ways to get to know people in the community. What you put in is directly related to your experience. There are many veterans in this community who are open to sharing stories and the history of this group. Please listen and learn – they have great institutional memory. Most of us love to talk about Burning Man experiences, fables and legends.

If you need your gear shipped out to the big burn, there is an annual truck to Burning Man for the Detroit area that fills up rather quickly run by Videogasm
